Breakfast (included)

The day starts in a frescoed hall, not in just any breakfast room.

Every morning you'll find cakes and biscuits baked by Laura, local specialities, cured meats, cheeses and hot drinks made properly, the way a barista makes them — not from a machine. It's one of the things our guests remember most. And yes, it's included in the price.

Any particular needs — gluten-free, egg-free? Tell us, if you can, before your stay. Laura already has something in mind for you; just give her the time to make it.

On Saturday evenings, the castle comes alive.

The restaurant

On Saturday evenings, the castle comes alive.

Every Saturday evening the restaurant is open: a dinner of traditional flavours from Le Marche, cooked by Laura and served in a frescoed hall that looks as though it belongs to another age. Few tables, local produce, wine from nearby, the right music in the background. Not a dinner: an evening.

Booking is recommended — places are limited.

During the week, the tastings.

The tastings

During the week, the tastings.

A couple of evenings a week we host our tastings of local wines, cheeses and cured meats: a selection of local labels alongside the best of the valley's small producers. You sit down, you taste, and we tell you the story behind each one. The best way to understand this land is to start with how it tastes.

Ask us which evenings they're running: the days change from week to week.

The other evenings? We'll get you to the table.

Beyond the castle walls

The other evenings? We'll get you to the table.

Castel di Luco sits in the middle of the countryside, and that's the beauty of it — but it also means that dinner out needs a car. And a good glass of wine and driving don't go together.

So on the evenings when we're not cooking, we drive you. We take you to one of the places a few minutes from the castle and come back to collect you. That way you enjoy your dinner — and that extra glass — with nothing to worry about.

The places within about 2–5 km where we can take you:

  • Ristorante Pizzeria Il Sole — Acquasanta Terme — cooking from Le Marche, local specialities and pizza from a wood-fired oven.
  • Cantine di Nené Pizzeria Ristorante — Acquasanta Terme — a characterful setting with local home cooking, chargrilled meat and excellent pizza.
  • Ristorante Terme — Acquasanta Terme — traditional cooking from Le Marche, home-style dishes and seasonal specialities.
  • Ristorante Tre Lanterne — Cagnano — a fine restaurant with regional cooking, refined dishes and a wide wine list.
  • Agriturismo Il Roccolo — Pomaro — a farmhouse restaurant surrounded by green, with honest cooking, its own produce and traditional recipes.
  • Pizzeria Vecchia Salaria — Ponte d'Arli — an informal pizzeria with a wood-fired oven, classic pizzas and simple local cooking.
  • Other places and bars a little further out on request.

All you have to do is make yourself comfortable. We'll take care of the rest.
